Dr. Tapan Roy, a distinguished Kathak virtuoso whose artistry knows no bounds, stands among India’s foremost exponents of Kathak. He is a perfect blend of performer,vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, who weaves music and movement into a seamless symphony that has captivated audiences across cultures and continents. Dr. Roy is celebrated not only as a legendary performer but also as a profound scholar whose work bridges tradition and intellect. His devotion to preserving India’s cultural heritage has earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Tapan Roy has been conferred with the prestigious Doctor of Letters (Vidyavachaspati) by Vikramshila University. This rare and highest academic distinction stands as a resounding testament to his unparallel contributions in the field of kathak nritya.
Dr. Tapan Roy has been honoured as Cultural Ambassador by the Government of India through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. He Carried the Spirit of Kathak to Kazakistan representing India at the Embassy with grace and pride. This prestigious role was a great honour, recognizing his unmatched artistry and his dedication to promoting Kathak on the global stage.
Pandit Tapan Roy’s tryst with Kathak began at the tender age of 7 under the legendary Guru Samar Chatterjee and Pandit Bachchan Lal Mishra of the Lucknow Gharana. His brilliance shone early, winning him a Gold Medal at the Bengal State Competition. Determined to refine his art, he moved to Delhi and trained under Guru Smt. Urmilla Nagar of the Jaipur Gharana, mastering its nuanced depths with unwavering dedication. Today, his journey reflects the perfect blend of discipline, devotion, and artistry.”
Dr. Roy’s dance style is a breathtaking symphony of dazzling footwork, expressive aang bhaav, and majestic abhinaya. His mastery of bhaav shines through soul-stirring portrayals of Draupadi Cheerharan, the divine journey of Lord Ram, and the enchanting episodes of Krishna Leela — performances that have earned thunderous applause and heartfelt appreciation globally.
His service to society was further recognized when he was appointed Brand Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan by the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation.

MANJIMA ROY

Manjima Roy is a well-renowned vocalist, musician, mentor, and spiritual music therapist dedicated to the enrichment of Indian classical music and holistic well-being through the power of sound and spirituality.
Her initial training in Hindustani Classical Music began under the guidance of Pandit Rudrajeet Baghchi, a distinguished disciple of Pandit Chinmayi Lahiri Ji of the Kirana Gharana. She later received advanced training from Pandit Sarathi Chatterjee, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra of the prestigious Banaras Gharana.
In recognition of her exceptional contribution to Hindustani Classical Music, she was honored with the West Bengal State Academy Award in 1992.
With over 40 years of dedicated teaching experience, Manjima Roy has trained and inspired countless students in the rich traditions of Indian classical music. She has performed extensively across various states of India, captivating audiences with her soulful voice, depth of knowledge, and spiritual expression through music.
Beyond performance and teaching, she has devoted many years to exploring the deeper spiritual and healing dimensions of music. Through spiritual healing, meditative sound practices, and psychological enhancement techniques rooted in Indian musical traditions, she has positively impacted and transformed the lives of many individuals.
Her work beautifully combines classical artistry, spirituality, emotional wellness, and the timeless Guru-Shishya tradition — creating a unique musical journey that nurtures the mind, heart, and soul.
SWAPAN ROY

With nearly four decades of dedicated experience in the field of music, dance, and performing arts, Swapan Roy has established himself as a versatile artist, educator, choreographer, and creative mentor.
A highly skilled Tabla player, he has been actively performing in various prestigious cultural programs and stage performances across India for many years. Along with his expertise in Tabla, he is also proficient in Kathak Dance and Creative Dance choreography, blending traditional Indian art forms with modern presentation styles.
As a passionate teacher and mentor, he has been nurturing and training children in music and performing arts for almost 40 years, inspiring thousands of students through disciplined training, creativity, and cultural values.
Apart from performing and teaching, he is deeply involved in choreography, stage production, musical direction, and creative event designing. He is also an experienced Audio & Video Editor, working professionally in audio-video production and editing for many years.
His journey reflects a unique combination of artistic excellence, traditional guru-shishya values, creativity, and modern technical skills dedicated to the promotion of Indian music and culture.
